Beach & Pier
Picture yourself on our three-mile stretch of beaches with swaying palm trees, soft white sand, and the soothing sound of the blue-green waves rolling in. One of our main beach attractions is the Pompano Beach Fisher Family Pier, which grandly stretches over the sea.
Whether you seek relaxation or a day jam-packed with outdoor activities, you’ll find endless things to do in Pompano Beach on and off our shores.
Warm Beaches & Fun Activities
Pompano Beach activities cater to every whim. Work up a sweat playing beach volleyball, jog along the shoreline, or take a refreshing swim. For everyone's safety, look for the brightly colored lifeguard towers where Pompano Beach Ocean Rescue is on watch to protect swimmers.
The beach is perfect for strolls at daybreak and sunset, and it's accessible to all abilities, with six wheelchair access points sprinkled along the shore. If you’d like to lounge on the sand, unfurl your beach towel or rent a lounge chair, umbrella, or beach bed to soak up the peaceful sights and sounds.
Endless beachside attractions also abound, from a playground for climbing and sliding to a splash pad for refreshing fun. Exercise buffs can sneak in a workout at the fitness zone situated along the beachfront promenade. It's typical for the smell of barbequing to waft through the air from the open-air pavilions, which are available to rent for a day of cookouts and celebrations.
The Fishing Village
The Fishing Village is perfect for a pre- or post-adventure meal or refreshment. With a wide range of restaurants near the Pompano pier, diverse cuisine includes fresh seafood, global cuisine from Mexican to Italian, and hotspots for coffee drinkers and those with a sweet tooth. There are also laidback or fancy spots to enjoy a drink, from beachfront bars to a sky-high rooftop bar.
Pompano Beach Fisher Family Pier
Our Fisher Family Pier is a top local attraction, with activities that range from pier fishing to gazing at the water from observation areas. Sightseeing at the pier is a free activity that everyone can enjoy. A unique feature of the pompano fish-shaped pier is a cutout (a fisheye) for peering into the ocean below and spotting sea life.
If you're interested in fishing from the pier and don't have your own equipment, we've got you covered. Stop into the Bait Shop at the entrance to the pier. For just $27 you can get everything you need. We'll set you up with a fishing rod, gear, bait (squid or shrimp), a bucket and a knife to help you cut up your bait. The package also includes a one-day fishing license, and parking validation.* You will need to leave your ID with them which you will get back when you return your equipment. Beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks are also available for purchase. Cast your line and reel in some memories!
